After such a long wait, we are finally going to be rewarded for our patience: Konshens has announced the upcoming release of his first "international" album. Konshens, who began his career by forming the group SOJAH with his brother Delus, first received a triumphant welcome in Japan, quickly followed by the release of the album "Sons of Jah" in 2006.
Titled "Mental Maintenance", this first album should be out this summer, but little more is known for the moment. Will it be a compilation of the hits that built his reputation? Or will it favour unreleased tracks?
We can make a few guesses from the "local and international" producers announced on the project: Bobby Digital, Chimney Records, Maximum Sound, D&H, Irievibrations Records, Ward 21 Music, Infinite Records. So we can assume we will find Winner, his first hit produced by Chimney Records, Praise Jahovia with Vegas on Frenchie's riddim of the same name, All about the paper from the Austrians of Irievibrations Records, Far weather friend on Ward 21's One more dance riddim, or I've got to go from Infinite Records.
With Konshens also announcing Bounty Killer and Tarrus Riley as guests, we can reasonably imagine we will hear Good Girl Gone Bad and the remix of Realest Song.
"I can't live without music, 24 hours a day, seven days a week," Konshens explains in the video below. "To everyone who shares that feeling, who needs music in their life, this album is my gift."
