Won last year by Gyptian, the Best Reggae Artist award has disappeared from the Soul Train Awards list.
After the Best Jazz Album and Best Gospel Album categories, it is now reggae's turn to be dropped from the awards ceremony of the famous show. In its place, a new category appears: Best Caribbean Performance.
A somewhat catch-all title that allows Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Rihanna and Machel Montano to be brought together in the same category. The nominees are therefore:
Rihanna - Man Down
Vybz Kartel - Summer Time
Kes The Band - Wotless
Machel Montano - Bend Over
Mavado - Delilah
In the other categories, Chris Brown is nominated five times, Beyonce and Kanye West four times, and finally Kelly Rowland, Adele, Marsha Ambrosius and Miguel three times.
