Despite 10,000 paying entries last year, the Summer Reggae Fest, held near St-Malo since 2008, will not take place in 2012.

Ouest France reports that the 2011 edition, despite its fine line-up (news of 28 June 2011), ended with a deficit of €150,000. Too heavy a burden for the organising association of the event, which has been wound up in the hope of making a fresh start in 2013.
Self-produced since its beginnings, the festival struggled to find backers: "We never managed to secure a partnership with a municipality that would then have allowed us to approach other institutions," lament Mathieu Ricard and Kevin Rayes in the columns of the daily.
