Serani leaves Daseca

Eleven years after co-founding the Daseca label, Serani has parted ways with his partners. The songwriter, singer and producer is now working on his own label, Rockstone Media.

Serani leaves Daseca

After a sensational start, releases had become rarer at Daseca. "I wanted to make room for them to spread their wings. They are talented, and they are very good friends", Serani explains to The Star.

Daseca was born in 2001, created by David, Serani and Craig (the label takes its name from the first letters of their first names). Their first series, the Anger Management riddim (with Full Clip by Busy Signal and Mavado, Real McCoy by Mavado), is still remembered.
The label has delivered an impressive number of hits, whether for Busy Signal (The Days, Badman place), Mavado (Never believe you, Again & again), or Bugle (What we gonna do).

"I don't know if they will change the name, Serani continues, but it would make sense. The name Daseca stands for unity, that's the meaning we gave it. If they need me, I'll be there, and if I need them, I know they'll be there."

Having released his second album ("It's Serani", in May 2012), Serani will now devote himself to his new label, Rockstone Media, on which he has signed the young artist Deep Jahi, winner of the Magnum Kings and Queen talent contest, who has put out his single Punching Bag.
