Busy Signal was sentenced on Friday to six months in prison by a Minnesota court for absconding while on supervised release, facing a drug trafficking charge.

Incarcerated for four months, the deejay will therefore serve only two months of the sentence. He should be back in Jamaica in November. Busy Signal had pleaded not guilty.
His manager, Shane Brown, was present at the hearing. According to him, the judge was impressed by the deejay's transformation over the last decade. "The judge had the lyrics of Nah Go A Jail in front of him, and liked the fact that Busy takes part in educational programmes in Jamaica", reports the Jamaica Observer.
Busy Signal was arrested in late May in London (news of 22/05/2012), as he was returning to Jamaica from his European tour. He was then extradited to the United States.
