Deejay Don Lickshot, a pioneer of the French-language reggae dancehall scene, passed away on Sunday 9 September 2012. He had been ill since last year.

Don Lickshot was one of the co-founders, in the late 80s, of the High Fight International sound system with selecta Polino and operator Tip Top, which gave Tonton David, Typical Féfé and Nuttea their start. The same team was reunited from 1993 in the Stand Tall sound system.
A pure product of the underground, Don Lickshot was at every sound system party. He only put out a few releases (including Réalité on the compilation "Rappattitude 2") but, conversely, handed the mic to many young, still unknown artists…
RIP, Don Lickshot.
