The release of the new Meta & The Cornerstones album, "Ancient Power", planned for 12 March on Soulbeats, has finally been cancelled.
The label has issued a press release, which we reproduce below:
"Soulbeats Records regrets to inform you that, unfortunately, the release of the Meta & The Cornerstones album planned for 12 March 2013 has been cancelled. Following a deep disagreement with the artist's management, we find ourselves obliged to give up working on this project.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation, and wish Meta Dia every success in the development of his career."
"Ancient Power", which Meta Dia told us about in an interview, was recorded in Jamaica at the Tuff Gong studios, with the help of Sidney Mills (Steel Pulse) and featuring Capleton, Damian Marley and U-Roy.
The project should nonetheless see the light of day, on another label. More info soon.
A tour is being prepared for May.
