Every year, England's national prison radio publishes a playlist ranking the artists most requested by inmates (based on 4,000 requests among the 84,000 prisoners across the Channel).
American hip-hop, reggae and dancehall are all well represented in this list: dead since 1996, Tupac remains the star of the cells. He is ahead of Vybz Kartel and rapper K Koke.
Also in the list are Gyptian, Jah Cure, UB40, Bob Marley and Mavado. Only two women appear in the ranking: Rihanna and Evanescence.
