Captain Sinbad is back: the artist, whose name comes from the Arabian Nights, returns with a new album, "Reggae Music Will Mad Unu !".

Known for his album "The Seven Voyages Of Captain Sinbad", recorded for Junjo Lawes in 1982, his comeback is orchestrated by Frenchie (Maximum Sound), who had already got Captain Sinbad back on the mic for the Skateland Killer riddim series in 2011.
So it took more than two decades to hear from Captain Sinbad again, discovered (and christened) by Sugar Minott at the dawn of the 80s. Propelled to the forefront by his famous album (with its equally famous sleeve), Captain Sinbad also set up his own labels, Youth In Progress and Explosion, which allowed him to reinvent himself when he put down the mic (he notably produced If I Give My Heart To You by John McLean).
Years later, Frenchie persuaded him to pick it up again. The result: Worldwilde Rebellion found its place on Frenchie's Skateland Killer riddim in 2011. Frenchie and Sinbad are friends of twenty years. Together, they co-produced the album "Jam World" on Greensleeves in 2005. After a new Captain Sinbad track (Jamaica 50 on the Lego di riddim, a cover of Let me go girl by The Uniques), the idea of making an album took shape: it would be "Reggae Music Will Mad Unu !"
Everything about this new album (six songs and five dub versions), recorded at Sonic Sounds in Kingston, is designed to take us back to that early dancehall atmosphere of the early 80s. Even the sleeve plays the time machine card.
"Reggae Music Will Mad Unu !" will be available on 7", LP and digital from 25 February 2013.
Note that the dub versions will only be available on vinyl.
