Forget everything you may have seen before: the bill put together by the United Nations of Dub festival goes beyond the imagination. This indoor event, running from 22 March to the morning of 25 March 2013 in north Wales (United Kingdom), reveals a line-up that could pass for a Who's Who of Dub, so many different sound systems from around the world are on the bill to take part in this immense celebration of Dub culture.
The most legendary among them, such as Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti-I, Channel One, Jah Tubby's, Iration Steppas, King Earthquake, Kibir La Amlak and Young Warrior, will play on their own sound systems. Among the many outfits taking over the 5 dance floors (2 main ones + 3 smaller areas), note the presence of French crews OBF, Blackboard Jungle, Stand High Patrol Ft Pupa Jim and Salomon Heritage Ft Ras Tweed.
Listing every participating sound would be indigestible, so many are the names piling up, to the delight of dub addicts. But the list does include some unmissable or up-and-coming figures of the Dub scene: Alpha & Omega Ft Dan-I, King Shiloh, Vibronics, Manasseh Ft Dark Angel + Kenny Knotts, Dubateers Ft Charlie P, Reality Shock Ft Solo Banton, Dubkasm, Mungo's Hi-Fi, Riddim Tuffa...
In short, heavyweight stuff in prospect for this festival, which offers various packages (tickets only, tickets + travel, tickets + accommodation, ...) to be found here and there.
