Back in 2012 after four years away (news of 09/03/2012), the World Clash will take place again in 2013. The next gathering of the world's top sound systems will be held on Saturday 12 October at Club Amazura in New York, the event's traditional home.
The 2013 line-up pits LP International (US), Fire Links (JA), Renaissance (JA), who will perform with Jazzy T, Mighty Crown (JAP), already seven-time champions, King Addies (US), Soul Supreme (US), making their debut in the competition, and Metromedia (JA), with Sky Juice, returning to the clash scene after twenty years away.
Also worth noting is the competition within the competition: LP International, King Addies and Soul Supreme are all three Brooklyn representatives and will face each other simultaneously for the first time.
Now nicknamed the World Clash RESET (for "Restoring Exciting Sound system Entertainment Together") since its return last year, the competition had been interrupted in 2007, after its 10th anniversary, as the clash scene ran out of steam.
This year, Konshens has recorded the event's theme song: Any Weh (on Chimney Records' Raw Cut riddim).
