World Clash RESET 2, the resurgence of the world sound system competition, lived up to every promise on Saturday night in New York, and crowned the Jamaicans of Metro Media.

The world crown was indeed at stake between the best of the best: Renaissance, Metro Media, LP International, Mighty Crown, King Addies, Soul Supreme and Fire Links.
After a feeling-out phase (a first round with no eliminations), things got serious in the second round, which saw the Americans of Soul Supreme leave the stage first. LP International (US) were also quickly beaten, as were the Jamaicans of Fire Links, who failed to convince the crowd despite their long experience.
That left two juggling sounds, Metro Media and Renaissance, and two clash machines, King Addies and Mighty Crown. Renaissance gave up its place in round 4, followed by seven-time champions Mighty Crown.
It remained to separate Metro Media and King Addies, the last Brooklyn representative, who confirmed that his victory over Bass Odyssey at the end of August was no fluke. And it was finally an unanswerable dub fi dub (6-2) that crowned Metro Media and their historic selector Skyjuice.
