After last summer's violent storms, which destroyed part of the installations and caused the first night to be cancelled, Reggae Sun Ska will move for its 2014 edition.

An article in the daily Sud Ouest prompted a response from the event's organisers in a press release.
The paper claimed this morning that the festival will move to the campus of the Bordeaux conurbation, three years after choosing Pauillac.
In its response, which we reproduce below, the Reggae Sun Ska association confirms that several options are being studied in the Aquitaine region to find a better-suited site, but points out that nothing has been decided yet.
"Following this morning's article in the newspaper Sud-Ouest, the association that has organised the Reggae Sun Ska Festival for 16 years would like to respond. The Trompeloup area in Pauillac, which has hosted the festival for 3 years, was weakened by last summer's storm, which strengthens the organisation's resolve to find a better-suited and more lasting venue, both in terms of safety and of visitor conditions.
Since the last edition of the festival, the whole Reggae Sun Ska team, together with the Aquitaine Region, the CUB and the public authorities, has been looking for solutions to welcome the public on a more appropriate site.
To date, several options are being studied in the Aquitaine region. We are indeed in talks with the Talence-Pessac-Gradignan campus, but this option is still under study. We cannot state today that the festival will take place on this site.
We hope to find the best possible solution by the beginning of 2014, and we will keep you informed of the dates and venue of the 17th edition of the Reggae Sun Ska Festival."
