The "voir dire" is finally over: the video and audio evidence announced by the prosecution has been accepted by Justice Lennox Campbell at the close of this particular procedure, a "trial within the trial" held behind closed doors.

This evidence (video, audio and messages) was seized from a phone said to belong to Vybz Kartel, and will therefore be admitted into the case file.
It is a big moment for the prosecution, which has been dangling this evidence since the start of the case. The bulk of the case rests on this supposed evidence, as the victim's body has still not been found. It will be up to the jury to determine whether these elements establish the deejay's guilt. After a break for the Christmas holidays, the trial resumes its normal course today.
Separately, Justice Lennox Campbell has stated that the visit of a juror to the defence lawyers will have no impact on the rest of the trial.
