The Brooklyn crew Tour de Force (in French in the text) is releasing its first album, "Battle Cry", featuring Luciano, Brother Culture, and Jahdan Blakkamoore among others.
Tour de Force, the duo of Double Tiger and DJ Q-Mastah, is still young on the sound system scene. Their first EP, "Old Time Love remixes" came out in 2013, on their label Dub Stuy Records, set up the year before. New Yorkers quickly got to know them thanks to their Echo Chamber nights, powered by their own sound system.
In the long tradition of the sound system, "Battle Cry" revisits great classics of Jamaican music: the Sleng Teng, Satta Massagana and the formidable Promised Land by Dennis Brown.
On the mic, we find Luciano (Were Do We Go Wrong), the English MC Brother Culture (Roots Lyrics, to be heard below), but also two representatives of the Brooklyn scene: Jahdan Blakkamoore, the versatile deejay of Noble Society (Pool Party) and Jay Spaker (Old Time Love and A Little Bit More).
"Battle Cry" has been available since 25 February, on vinyl, CD and digital.
