The 57th Grammy Awards ceremony will be held on 9 February 2015 and has revealed the list of artists nominated in the "Best Reggae Album" category:
- Ziggy Marley - Fly Rasta (Tuff Gong Worldwide)
- Sean Paul - Full Frequency (VP/Atlantic)
- Shaggy - Out of Many, One Music (Ranch Entertainment, Inc.)
- SOJA - Amid the Noise and Haste (Ato Records)
- Lee Perry - Back On The Controls (Upsetter)
- Sly & Robbie & Spicy Chocolate- The Reggae Power (Universal Music Japan, VP Records, Taxi Records)
There is a clear preference for Shaggy's album "Out of Many, One Music" (even though it came out in 2013!) and for SOJA's, but the competition will be tough with the other challengers: Sly & Robbie, Lee Scratch Perry and above all Sean Paul and Ziggy Marley, which confirms that any album recorded by a Marley will inevitably end up on the list of nominees. Who is still surprised by that?
In the other categories, the nominations favour Beyoncé, Pharell Williams and Jay-Z.
