Trinity

Also known as Junior or Wade Brammer, Trinity is one of the most popular culture deejays of the late 70s and early 80s. Trinity is born in 1954 in Kingston. As a teenager he attends the Alpha Boys School, the famous school that has produced the island's most renowned musicians. It is with the sound system that he cuts his teeth, while U Roy and Big Youth dominate the genre on the island.

Trinity starts recording in 1974, but under the name Prince Glen. After a few tracks, it is his friend Dillinger who introduces him in 1976 to the Hookim brothers of Channel One. There Trinity records Set Up Yourself and All Gone (on the Mighty Diamonds' Have Mercy), among others. He also records some of his best tracks with Vivian "Yabby You" Jackson, such as Gwan Anf Lef Me, or Jesus Dread with Dillinger.
The two men are reunited the following year, in 1977, with the release of "Shanty Town Determination", produced by Yabby You and Tony Robinson with mixes by King Tubby. Trinity develops deeply cultural themes (Rasta Determination, Hold Them Jah Jah, Tribal War), and his admiration for Big Youth is obvious. His popularity grows a little more with the releases that same year of "Clash" with Dillinger and of ""Three Piece Suit", which includes the famous title track (on Marcia Aitken's I'm Still In Love With You). In 1979, "Rock In The Ghetto" is produced by Linval Thompson at Channel One.

Gradually leaving deejaying for singing, Trinity goes through the 80s in slow motion and releases two albums under the name Junior Brammer ("Telephone Line" in 1986 and "Hold The Corner" in 1987). He performs with the Blood & Fire sound system alongside Dillinger and Ranking Joe, before crossing to the other side of the fence by setting up the labels Flagman and then 2 Miles, on which he launches his protégé Natty King.
