King Spinna is the name under which Bob Harding and Dom Sotgiu reappear, the two former sidekicks of Steve Barrow at Blood & Fire, the essential roots label of the 1990s.
The inauguration of the catalogue is entrusted to Bunny Lee & The Agrovators. "Dub Will Change your Mind" is a compilation of rare dubs recorded at King Tubby's studio, mostly during 1975, when the Flying Cymbal reigned, the trademark of Bunny Lee and his drummer Carlton "Santa" Davis.
14 tracks including four little-known tunes by Derrick Morgan ("Teach My Daughter", "Rasta Nah Fear", "Under Heavy Manners" and "Pick Sense Out Of Nonsense") but also Cornell Campbell, Johnny Clarke, Ronnie Davis, John Holt... Pressed in 1,000 copies, "Dub Will Change your Mind" is available on vinyl only.
It can be ordered directly from their website, online since the start of the new season, www.kingspinna.com.
A CD edition (with 3 extra tracks) has been announced, along with digital distribution (mp3 and FLAC).
