TOK's much-awaited second album, "Unknown language", leaves little room for the unknown despite its title. It must be said that the period 2003-2005 was rich in good singles for the group, which explains this album in the form of a compilation, with tracks mostly already released on various labels as 45s. The tour of TOK's best singles begins with Survivor on Renaissance's Stepz riddim. The tracks that marked the dancehalls follow one another: Solid as a rock on the Thrilla, Haters on the Ching chong, No way jose and Makes me weak on the Rah rah. Many of these tracks were already essential on 45, particularly Fire fire on Fire Links' Mad instruments, Gal yuh a lead, TOK's biggest US hit in 2003, Unknown language on the Coolie dance and of course Footprints on the Drop leaf, one of the best tracks of 2004. The album also brings together the quartet's most recent productions such as Hey lady on the Jonkanoo and Wah gwan on the Oh my swing.

The album does offer a few novelties which, just as on the previous opus, demonstrate TOK's versatility. Among these lesser-known tracks are She’s hotter, with reggaeton influences, and more cross-over tracks such as Tell me and Music pumping. Successful experiments that owe a great deal to the group's vocal talents. Dancehall and hip-hop fans will, on the other hand, be more impressed by two unreleased tracks, I get high and Neck breakers, which sum up the quintessence of the TOK style over minimalist instrumentals. Even if those familiar with "Touch Of Klass" might have hoped for more novelties on this album, the track selection, which certainly holds up, makes "Unknown language" an essential CD for a dancehall summer.
