On 17 June, the soul-reggae, ska and rocksteady group Pama International releases its 7th album in France. This English band, no newcomers, was in 2006 the first new signing to the Trojan label in 30 years. The album, released in the UK in 2009 and titled "Outernational", comes out on their own label, Rockers Revolt.
To celebrate the occasion, Pama International will play in France for the first time on 18 June at Radio Nova's Nuits Zébrées at La Bellevilloise. A chance to discover this protean outfit, whose ranks have included members of the Specials, Madness, Steel Pulse and many others.
Editor's note: although the reference is no doubt no accident, the group has no connection with the English label Pama, a direct competitor of Trojan in the 1960s and 1970s in the soul and reggae field.
