France Ô will broadcast tonight, Friday 11 February, at 8.30pm, the documentary Alpha Blondy, un combat pour la liberté, directed by Dramane Cissé and Antoinette Delafin (see news of 03/01/11/). Made up of interviews and archive footage, the film was shown as a preview on Wednesday in the presence of Alpha Blondy at the Club de l'Etoile in Paris.
Questioned again about the situation in Côte d'Ivoire, the singer, who has been criticised for his support of Laurent Gbagbo, clarified his position, stating: "Gbagbo remains my candidate, but when you've lost, I say we lost. That's fair play." In an interview with Libération, however, he considers that war is "inevitable, even unavoidable".
