The Morgan Heritage family reunited once again
on Friday, March 30th 2012 - 7 225 views
More than four years after their last album together ("Mission in Progress"), the Morgan Heritage family is getting ready to reform. The radio station Irie FM reports that the band is working on a new album.
Now that everyone has had the chance to work on their solo projects, the Morgan family has decided to get back together. Titled "The Return", the long-awaited album is produced with Shane Brown (Jukeboxx), their faithful ally.
Planned for this year, with no further detail, the album will be preceded by the release of a single. Just in time for the band's return to European stages this summer.
Meanwhile, Gramps Morgan is about to release his second solo album, after "Two side of my heart" released in 2009. Titled "Reggae Music Lives", it will be available on 24 April on his label Dada Son Entertainment.
The single Life too short, co-written with his brother Peetah Morgan and already available as a digital release, is taken from this new album. Part of the proceeds from its sale will go to the family of Trayvon Martin, the teenager murdered in Florida by a man who has still not been charged.
"As the father of a 16-year-old boy, I don't know what I would do in this situation, but I know that justice must be done," he said. "After learning that he was a reggae fan (...) we wanted to pay tribute to him and contribute to the perpetuation of his memory and his legacy."
