Preceded by an EP, "Leaders of Tomorrow", at the start of the year, Rod Anton releases his first album, "Reasonin'", recorded with the musicians The Ligerians.
Recorded between Ligerians’ Records studios in Tours, Lions’Den in St Catherine (Jamaica) and I Grade Records on the island of St Croix (US Virgin Islands), Rod Anton also chose his guests well: Max Romeo, Midnite and The Congos. The meeting with the Jamaican trio in 2010, which would give birth to the first EP, "Angel", was the start of a close collaboration.
As its name suggests, "Reasonin'" tackles serious subjects and opens up avenues for reflection. Made in partnership with the NGO Amazon Watch, Xingú People raises the alarm about the construction of the Belo Monte dam in the Amazon; Diamonds of Africa denounces the exploitation of the African continent.
The release of "Reasonin'", just out, comes with a tour that takes in the Batofar in Paris, where the album release will be celebrated, with Ras Daniel Ray & Tu Shung Peng as guests. On the island of La Réunion, Rod Anton will perform as an acoustic trio.
