We have already mentioned Bambas Dois in these pages, the fusion of Brazilian and Jamaican rhythms. The 18th edition of the Rio Loco 2012 festival: Lusofonia, in Toulouse, will be the chance to see this unusual project on stage, for the first time in Europe.

A project born almost by chance, on a boat, the day Edouard "BiD" Bilovski heard a Jamaican sailor improvising over "Fransisco, Forro y Frevo", an album by Chico Cesar that BiD was producing at the time. It was a revelation: these two lands, hopelessly in love with music, had to be united in a groundbreaking project.
Bamba Dois was thus born. It brings together the cream of the Nordeste's musicians and a battalion of Jamaican artists: Sizzla, U-Roy, Ky-mani Marley, Ernest Rangling, Luciano, The Heptones, Queen Ifrica, Tony Rebel…
Dedicated to the music of Portuguese-speaking countries (Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, East Timor), the Rio Loco festival runs from 12 to 17 June.
On Sunday 17 June, on the Pont-Neuf stage, the "Pink City" will host this thrilling meeting of many artists from these two nations for the show "Reggae Jubilatoire". Real Brazilian and Jamaican all-stars will follow one another on stage, including BiD, James Mü, Decio 7, Eder Rocha, Dum Dum, Felipe Pinaud, Ricardo Prado, Xuxa Levy, Marlon Sette, Tiquinho, Dj Gustah, Dada Yute, Luciano, Jesse Royal, Priest Tiger, Karina Buhr and Anelis Assumpção, to create an original repertoire that celebrates the shared African origins of auriverde and yardie music. A call to all music lovers hungry for artistic discoveries!
