In its 13 January edition, the Jamaican Gleaner returns to the plan to exhume Bob Marley's body and transfer it to Ethiopia. The remarks, made on 12 January by the singer's widow during a visit to Addis Ababa and quoted by the Associated Press, had provoked numerous reactions.
They have since been denied by a source close to Rita Marley, speaking anonymously in the daily's columns. "None of this is true," this person insists. "I spoke with [Rita Marley] this morning, and she told me there was no such plan."
The Jamaican Gleaner also notes that Rita Marley, who travels regularly, could not be reached.
