The 2007 edition of the Mobo Awards (Music of Black Origin) will take place on 19 September in London. This event, launched in 1996 as the first awards dedicated to Black music in Europe, has come a long way since its creation, and is now established as an unmissable crossroads, both for established artists and for newcomers.
The nominations have recently been announced and in the reggae category we find: Tony Matterhorn, Collie Buddz, Sean Kingston, Shaggy and Stephen Marley.
Since its creation, the winners of the reggae category have been Beenie Man and Sean Paul, who took the prize three times each, but also Shaggy, Mr Vegas, Wayne Wonder, Damian Marley and Peter Hunnigale.
