Billboard Magazine has delivered its verdict for 2007 with its top 10 reggae artists. A very particular view of the year gone by, since the American publication relies solely on record sales and track downloads.
An inevitably skewed ranking which thus crowns Matisyahu artist of the year, even though the Hasidic singer did not exactly mark 2007 with his projects. Even more unreal is the presence of Bob Marley, who takes second place. It borders on schizophrenia when you find him again in sixth place with the Wailers...
Behind them, more logically, come Sean Paul, Collie Buddz and Buju Banton, who really did leave their mark on the year. Billboard definitively crowns the Marley family, as sons Stephen Marley and Damian Marley take third and fourth place respectively.
