Sting 2007 ultimately failed to meet the expectations of a crowd that nevertheless turned out in force, as every year. That is what emerges from comments all over the web. People point to the boredom that hung over this long night and the few good moments to get stuck into. Beenie Man's absence was clearly sorely felt, leaving Ninjaman to entertain the crowd. Mavado also did his job and Spice, whose big comeback it was, made an impact with her sulphurous lyrics.

Oddly enough, it was the veterans Josey Wales and George Nooks who received the warmest welcomes. Most of the other participants settled for the bare minimum, including Bounty Killer, who was criticised for going after his lifelong rival a little too much when he was not even there to defend himself. So much so that it was not him, but Vybz Kartel, accompanied by Aidonia and his whole Portmore Empire, who was tasked with closing the event, a difficult task but one he seems to have fulfilled with honours.
The good news will nonetheless remain that no unfortunate incident marred the night, despite the numerous altercations in the preceding weeks. Which sadly was not the case for the Original Dancehall Jam Jam organised by Cocoa Tea, marked by several confrontations, notably between Sizzla and Jah Cure, but also between Capleton and Lutan Fyah.
