The final edition of the UK Cup Clash, held on Saturday night at the Stratford Rex, saw Bass Odyssey win for the third time in a row, this time accompanied by its emblematic MC, Squingy.
Tony Matterhorn and Black Kat were the first to be eliminated, followed by Sentinel, after the vocal round. Killamanjaro, competing for the first time and accompanied by Ricky Trooper and Freddy Kruga, survived until the fourth round. Mighty Crown, who were among the favourites, paid dearly for their 45s round, leaving David Rodigan and Bass Odyssey one-on-one for the dub-fi-dub.
The final confrontation was close, but the St Ann sound snatched victory on a Garnett Silk dub. For this last edition, clash fans across the Channel highlighted the quality of the competition and hailed the very good performance of their representative, Sir David Rodigan.
