We first discovered them with a single, Victory, bringing together Sizzla and Mos Def. More recently, with Streetlife they delivered a daring cover of Roxanne with Trey Songz & Buju Banton. It will be the first single from the first album by K-Salaam & Beatnick, the New York beatmaking duo, "Whose World Is This ?". The duo, who have made a habit of building bridges between hip hop and reggae, have signed a three-album deal with VP Records, with distribution by Universal. The first opus will hit the shops on 29 July 2008.
The album is built on a concept of combinations pairing prestigious hip hop guests (Talib Kweli, Dead Prez, Young Buck, Trey Songz, Outlawz, Kardinal Offishall…) with reggae ones (Buju Banton, Sizzla, Capleton, Luciano, Richie Spice…). A concept that is reminiscent of Def Jamaica.
