Fresh proof that Greensleeves is still very much active, the English label has just announced the upcoming release of a best-of devoted to Sizzla. Entitled “The Journey – The Very Best Of Sizzla”, this compilation will attempt, over 21 tracks, to extract the best from the enormous catalogue of hits the singer has delivered over the years, from the essential early ones such as Praise ye Jah and Black woman and child to more recent successes with Don Corleon, such as Give me a try or Be strong.
Note that this best-of will also contain a few unreleased tracks, as well as a DVD featuring an interview with Sizzla conducted by Robbo Ranx for BBC 1Xtra, an RETV report, “A Day In The Life Of Sizzla”, shot at Judgement Yard, and the making-of of the videos for Rise to the occasion and Thank U mama, all embellished with a 12-page booklet of photos and unpublished notes. A quality new project which reminds us, in these troubled times, what an immense artist Sizzla Kalonji is.
