The Outaroad site has just published a denial concerning the ban on airplay of Konshens' song Winner (news of 28/07/2008).
Indeed, Cordel Green, executive director of the Jamaican broadcasting commission, stated that no such decision had ever been taken.
He also took care to recall the exact role of the commission, which is not a censorship body and therefore has no mission to ban songs from the airwaves, but rather an observatory tasked with ensuring compliance with the regulations in force, and notably the Children's Code for Programming.
