Washington's Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History opened a temporary exhibition last month devoted to Haile Selassie and Rasta culture.

At the initiative of anthropologist John P. Homiak, the exhibition's curator, handicrafts, clothing, photos and drawings are on show to the public until 8 November. The exhibition devotes a large part of its content to the impact of Ras Tafari and his Pan-African message on Jamaica, from Prince Emmanuel to Marcus Garvey.
A first which will no doubt help lift the veil on a misunderstood historical figure and a culture often approached through persistent clichés.
