For a while, Vybz Kartel and Mavado seemed to have buried the hatchet, each carrying on with his own work without paying much attention to the other. But recently hostilities between the two DJs have resumed through their songs, notably on Scatta’s Self defense riddim and Shane Brown’s Silent river riddim, and each is trying to out-insult the other as viciously as possible.

The atmosphere between the two camps has thus become extremely tense once again, to the point that rumours are circulating about a physical scuffle between Mavado and Jeffrey Hype, Kartel’s manager.
The latest episode: Vybz Kartel’s car was found completely burnt out in the early hours, after a bomb planted there by two motorcyclists, who fled immediately afterwards, exploded. No link has been established yet, but the connection is too obvious not to be made.
