One more award for Mavado after his exemplary first album, "Gangsta for life - The symphony of David Brooks": the Jamaican singer received the MOBO Award (Music of Black Origin) for best reggae act. The competition was fierce: the prize was contested between Beenie Man, Busy Signal, Tarrus Riley and Etana. Mavado thus joins Sean Paul, Shaggy, Wayne Wonder, Beenie Man and Sean Kingston on the list of winners.

Absent from the awards ceremony held last Wednesday in London, Mavado was booed by the room, reports the site outaroad.com, as were Chris Brown and Dizzee Rascal, also absent. The ceremony also honoured Estelle twice: best female act and best song for American Boy with Kanye West.
