A feature film entitled Surf rasta, devoted to surfing in Jamaica, will be unveiled in June.

Heading the project is Rick Elgood, the English director who already gave us Dancehall queen and One love. Shot half in Jamaica and the rest in Ecuador, this docu-fiction retraces the true story of young Jamaicans, rastas, fans of reggae and surfing, who realise their dream by taking part in an international competition in Ecuador, a story not unlike that of Rasta rocket.
The film, which follows the journey of Anthony "Billy mystic" Wilmot, a figure of Jamaican surfing and singer of the band Mystic Revealers, and his three sons, is punctuated with surf and skateboard scenes, a first in Jamaica.
Less unusual, music also plays a major role, as we find the protagonists at a Passa Passa party or during a soundclash. The soundtrack, incidentally co-produced by VP Records, will feature tracks by Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Sean Paul, Sizzla, Wayne Wonder and Bounty Killer.
