On the occasion of the celebration of Marcus Garvey's 123rd birthday, two singers were honoured among a dozen award winners from Jamaican civil society.

First there is Warrior King, who received the Marcus Garvey music award for adapting texts by Jamaica's first national hero.
Veteran singer Jimmy Tucker (Junior Tucker's uncle) was rewarded for his entire career, which spans more than 55 years and began when he was a child.
The ceremony was punctuated by performances from Warrior King, Tony Rebel, Etana and Protoje.
