We had discovered Black Woman, the first track from this new Richie Spice album, due next year. The figurehead of the new-roots generation (or what is left of it) had been keeping rather quiet on the Jamaican charts. We have heard little from him since the disappointment of "Gideon Boot" in 2008, which contrasted with the success of "In the Streets to Africa" the year before.
Eagerly awaited, this fifth album is another chance to spin a biblical metaphor: this time the brother of Pliers and Spanner Banner has chosen the story of the Book of Job ("Book of Job") as his title. Besides the single Black Woman, which is getting played everywhere, the track My Life (Street Life), released in 2009 but re-arranged, promises great things. Release announced for 15 March 2011 on VP Records.
