She is one of the most renowned photographers: Beth Lesser, some of whose pictures have travelled the world, has a new official website.

With her partner David Kingston, she started a fanzine devoted to Augustus Pablo and Rockers International, before branching out to other artists. That is where the "Reggae Quaterly" adventure began and where she started taking pictures of dancehall artists.
She spent so much time in Kingston photographing the new generation that she even ended up getting married at Sugar Minott's Ghetto Youths Promotion in 1986, which can be found among the twenty or so pictures available on the site.
You come across roots artists (Dennis Brown, I Roy, a superb shot of Gregory Isaacs in front of his African Museum, but also Delroy Wilson, Barry Brown, Ranking Joe in 1982...). On the dancehall side, let us mention Tenor Saw in 1984, Nitty Gritty, Billy Boyo and Lui Lepke, Josey Wales in 1983... In short, a real dive into the musical Kingston of the early 1980s.
Some of her pictures can be found in the international and French press (Natty Dread and Reggae Vibes), and also on album sleeves for VP Records reissues (including the famous shot of Dennis Brown sitting cross-legged).
