It is finally on 14 February, Valentine's Day, that Buju Banton will appear in court for his second trial. The date was set yesterday by Judge James Moody. "14 February is St Valentine's Day," said David Markus, his lawyer. "We hope the jury gives us some love."
"Buju is optimistic and hopeful. He is in good spirits. He is a rock. Nobody realises how difficult it is to fight the federal government in a trial, let alone two," his lawyer added.
It is not yet known whether Gargamel will have to answer new charges (news of 06/01/2011): the defence and the prosecution are both waiting for the court to rule.
Buju Banton was arrested in December 2009. In September 2010, at his first trial, the jury had been unable to agree on a verdict.
