Reggae Sun Ska settles in Pauillac

After months of dithering, Reggae Sun Ska has finally found a new site. For its fourteenth edition, the festival will take place from 5 to 7 August in Pauillac, in the Médoc.

Reggae Sun Ska settles in Pauillac

As the Jamaicans say, it was no "bed of roses" to secure this new home. "An obstacle course," even confides Fred Lachaize of Music'Action to Sud-Ouest. The team had already announced that the site of the 2010 edition, the La Garosse sports ground in Saint-Sauveur, was a "transition". The search therefore continued, alongside consultations with local authority officials. Several sites in the region were considered before satisfaction was finally found in Pauillac, on the site known as the Hauts Fourneaux. Though no one yet knows for certain whether this will last.

New this year, the 2011 edition will run over three days, which the organisers hope will spread the festivalgoers out better and improve the welcome. It is one of the lessons learned from last year and from the failings in the face of the huge attendance (46,000 festivalgoers announced over two days).

Three days of music, but also three stages, a village, a fringe festival set up in the heart of the town, and a tour organised beforehand in the South-West… No information about the line-up has yet filtered out, but the box office has already opened. You can already get a 3-day pass for €70 or a day ticket for €26.
