After a first edition crowned with success in 2009, the One Love Festival, organised by Florent Malouda, is back in 2011. The Chelsea and France national team footballer announced yesterday at a press conference the programme of this new edition, to be held on 17 and 18 June 2011 at the Stade de Baduel in Cayenne, French Guiana.

As in 2009, the line-up gives pride of place to international artists as well as to those of the local scene. Announced are: Shaggy, Fanny J (who is the event's official patron), Barrington Levy, Tarrus Riley, Protoje, Queen Ifrica, Akiyo, Olodum (the Brazilian samba group), Sefyu, Emilie Sébélouée, Jahyanai, Ali Angel, Lynnsha, Ruud Daddy, Tina Ly, Kaysha.
"I wanted to do this event again in Guiana, even though it is harder than in Paris or London. I insisted a lot on bringing in the biggest artists. We had to start by showing them where Guiana was on a map."
Created in March 2009, the One Love Foundation is "my relay in my home region, Guiana, to shine a light on local associations doing remarkable work in my eyes", explains the midfielder. "By approaching partners, I try to carry out concrete projects."
Not only cultural projects but also sporting ones or ones promoting employment (a partnership links the foundation to Novotel to give a boost to young people in hotel and catering training). In addition, Nike has produced 15 pairs of collector's Nike Dunks One Love, with the proceeds from their sale going to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
