The Jarring Effects catalogue now has a 100th release. After 15 years of adventure and musical activism, including a last year marked by serious financial problems, the Lyon-based label celebrated the event with the release of a triple-CD box set, just out, "FX100 : A Hundred Effects".
Not the expected compilation of 15 years of adventure and musical activism, across dub, hip-hop and electro (a segmentation echoed in the tracklist). It is, on the contrary, a mine of unreleased tracks, remixes and unexpected collaborations between the artists who built Jarring Effects' reputation (Brain Damage, High Tone, Le Peuple de l'Herbe, EZ3kiel...).
Far from a farewell fanfare, this 100th release will, we hope, be the prelude to more. Indeed, people are already starting to talk about the 101st at Jarring Effects...
Already available on CD, the FX100 Box will be available on triple vinyl at the end of October.
