Danakil is releasing its first dub album, "Echos du dub", drawn from the tracks of the album "Echos du Temps". Unsurprisingly, Manjul produces and mixes these versions.

Already, for the tour and the release of "Echos du Temps" in 2011, the sampler given free to every ticket buyer was completed by a Manjul dub. "We had wanted to put out dub projects from our albums for a long time," says Mathieu, the band's saxophonist. "We had done a few dub versions of "Dialogue de Sourds" that we made available as a free download." The warm reception gave them ideas.
When they recorded "Echos du Temps" alongside Manjul in his Humble Ark in Mali, things happened naturally: "For us he is a master of dub. We asked him to work on the dub versions of the album, and we are very happy with the result."
Under Manjul's precise mixing, the arrangements are brought to the fore in dreamy versions. "We also added a few overdubs: violins, a baritone saxophone… It lets you rediscover the album from a different angle."
Like "Echos du Temps", "Echos du Dub" will be released on the label X-Ray Productions. It is Danakil's last release before Baco Records becomes the home of all the band's projects.
"Echos du Dub" hits the shops on Friday 1 June, on CD and LP.
