Buju Banton did not learn the verdict of his new firearms possession trial yesterday in Tampa (Florida).
The hearing was adjourned and postponed at the request of Buju Banton's new lawyer, Chokwe Lumumba. He has called for an investigation following the initiative of the juror Terri Wright, who carried out her own research on the Buju Banton case (news of 15/10/2012).
Two motions have been filed by the deejay's lawyers: the first asks the judge to consider a lesser sentence; the second calls for a new trial.
The date of the next hearing has not yet been set. Buju Banton faces a five-year prison sentence, which could be added to his initial sentence.
