Lutan Fyah is launching the Youth Uplifment Foundation (YUF), a non-profit foundation whose aim is to support young people who are highly exposed to risky behaviour.

The initiative comes in a very heavy context, with Jamaica still in shock over the terrible crime - the rape of five women - that took place last Monday in Irwin Point, Saint James. Several marches have been held across the country, the population wishing to show its deep disgust and anger at these sordid crimes.
“I want to offer (young people) opportunities for enrichment through 'edutainment' (editor's note: a contraction of education and entertainment)”, the singer tells the Jamaica Star, keen to tackle, through this foundation, the violence (gang problems, rapes, incest…) that plagues Jamaican society.
“We must encourage the development of young people (…), so as to eliminate risky behaviour among them. All while helping them develop their real potential. Too many of our young talents get lost in gangs and make bad choices that haunt them for the rest of their lives.”
