As he tweeted on 17 November, Busy Signal is back in Jamaica, after six months of incarceration in a federal prison in Minnesota (news of 24/09/2012).
At a press conference the day before yesterday, the deejay spoke about his detention and his future plans, in the presence, among others, of his manager Shane Brown (Juke Boxx Productions).
"Those six months were hard. It was like six million years for me", said the man himself, who looked very thin - he has lost nearly 15 kilos.
"I don't know how to explain what I felt spending six months in prison, because it had a negative effect on my health (ed. note: he says he fainted twice), on my life and on my career. I learned a lot of things there. I saw people die of heart attacks, I saw a lot of things. I am here to thank the media and everyone who supported me", Busy Signal added.
He also said he would visit inmates at Gun Court and the General Penitentiary to speak to them. "I will keep singing Nah Go Jail Again, and this time I am sure I will never go back to that place, unless it is to motivate the inmates."
"My music will change because I will record songs about my experience". That does not mean dwelling on it, though: "I just want to get on with my life, my career, but I am not going to make a series of songs about prison".
In recent days, Busy Signal has been prolific behind the mic, recording notably Come Shock Out and Think Man A Idiot (Juke Boxx records). Inevitably in high demand from concert promoters, Busy Signal confirmed, through his manager, that he will play a concert in Jamaica in December, after four years without a show on his island. Will he join the Sting 2012 line-up on 26 December in Portmore?
"I'm not sure it will be Sting. Yes, we have been approached by Sting", Shane Brown replied bluntly, saluting in passing the promoter Isaiah Laing, who was present at the press conference.
