The fourth edition of Shaggy and Friends, the annual charity concert organised by the singer of Boombastic and his Make A Difference foundation, will not take place at the end of 2012. This is despite the singer having initially said he wished to put together an exceptional line-up to mark the 50th anniversary of Jamaican Independence.

Sharon Burke (Solid Agency), Shaggy's manager, recently relayed the singer's wish to stage the event every two years from now on.
On 7 January this year, in Saint Andrew, the 3rd edition of Shaggy and Friends (News of 22/11/2011) had brought together Lauryn Hill, Eve, Maxi Priest, Beres Hammond, Stephen Marley, Romain Virgo and Wayne Marshall, among others.
The concert had in fact reached record profits (32 million Jamaican dollars, or roughly 280,000 euros), part of which was spent on buying new equipment for the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Kingston.
The first edition of Shaggy and Friends took place in 2009 (with Sean Paul, Etana, Marcia Griffiths, Macy Gray…), eight years after Shaggy and the Bustamante Hospital for Children set up their partnership.
