Accused of murder and imprisoned since September 2011, Vybz Kartel appeared in court yesterday but his trial was postponed once again.
Vybz Kartel will have to face the judges again on 10 June. The postponement was caused by the absence of a prosecution witness, reports the Jamaica Observer. This was already the reason for the postponement of the trial last January.
The prosecution said it intends to proceed with the trial without the witness and to enter his statement into the record of evidence.
Vybz Kartel is accused, along with Lenburgh McDonald and Nigel Thompson, of causing the death of Barrington ‘Bossy’ Bryan in July 2011.
Vybz Kartel is also accused of the murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams in August 2011. That trial will take place between 18 November and 5 December.
Vybz Kartel has been in custody since October 2011.
