The third issue of the quarterly magazine Uplift! is now available.
Expanded by 20 pages (60 pages in all), this new issue puts Midnite, the emblematic Virgin Islands band, on the cover, with a long interview with its leader Vaughn Benjamin.
Also in this issue, interviews with King Shiloh, the Dutch sound system, Lion Roots, as well as articles on Freddie McKay, Patrice Lumumba and Colin Grant (on the occasion of Hélène Lee's French translation of his essential Marcus Garvey biography, "Le Nègre au chapeau").
Finally, a debate-style feature, "original vs. repress", with interviews with Seb Carayol, who shares his own experience of reissuing Zen Bow's "Impression" (read our Focus ''A la poursuite de Zen Bow''), Kieran (Only Roots), Hervé (Iroko Records) and Lyloo (I-Skanker).
